Famous Quote

“He who sleeps on the floor will not fall off the bed.”

- Robert Gronock
How often should I vacuum?
In an ideal world, an area that has heavy traffic should be vacuumed every day. But once or twice a week is more realistic with today's busy lifestyles and certainly enough for areas that aren't often used. For best results, slowly move the vacuum over the carpet several times, going back and forth and side to side in parallel rows.

Laminate Floor General Cleaning
Use a non-beater bar vacuum or a dust mop to remove loose dirt. Clean your laminate floor once a week with a vinegar solution (1/4 cup of white vinegar to 2 gallons of clean tap water) or a nonabrasive household cleaner, such as ammonia and water solution. Do not saturate the floor apply with spray bottle or damp mop or cloth. Steel wool, soap-based detergents, waxes, polishes, or scouring powder may scratch or dull the flooring surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Remember:
  • Avoid allowing liquids to stand on your floor, wipe up spills immediately.

  • Higher traffic or sandy areas may require more frequent dust mopping or vacuuming.

  • For challenging spots, such as candle wax or chewing gum, harden the spot with ice and then gently scrape the spot with a plastic scraper.

  • Be careful not to scratch the flooring surface.

  • Do not use any type of buffing machine.

  • Before cleaning it is always best to check your flooring manufacturer’s recommendations.
